How does the process work?
Once the site has been prepared the dentist will take photographs which are stored as 3D digital models in a computer using proprietary software. The computer approximates the shape of the restoration using as reference points, the surrounding teeth. The model is then refined by the dentist.
Once everything is perfect, a milling machine takes over; it actually carves the restoration from a solid block of ceramic. Once the milling operation is completed, the dentist simply bonds the restoration to the tooth in question using resin.
