Chem Film Aluminum

Putting a chem film on a product prevents it from corroding as quickly. Plus, it can act as a base for other organic compounds, such as paint. Applying a coat to aluminum won’t corrode as much, and it’ll last longer. There are several variations of this coating, each with different characteristics.

Type II

Type II films have been around for a long time, and they’re useful as decorative coats. Typically, they’re only 0.6 mm thick or thicker than type IIB. They tend to last longer than them, and you won’t need to reapply them as often.

Type IIB

Type IIB films are only 0.25 mm thick, some of the thinnest films on the market. If you’re trying to use something indoors, it would be best if you were to use this type. Since it doesn’t fade as quickly, it has a longer-lasting finish than type II. This type is strongly recommended as a base when working on clear finishes.

Type III

Suppose you need to use aluminum somewhere with lots of abrasions. If that were the case, it would be best to use a true hard coat, like type III.
